Places I’ve Been.

Project Marketing.

One incredibly important piece of curating an exhibition is project marketing. Lauren, Ashlyn, and I were able to work together as a team to create a balanced marketing scheme, complete with color palettes, promotional photos done by Ashlyn, logo design by Lauren, and more. We had a lot of fun brainstorming ways that we could get the word out, “Places I’ve Been” merchandise, internal marketing through business cards handed to students, and other methods to get others to see the work we’ve created.

We were especially blessed to have Pour Jon’s Coffee in Siloam Springs agree to host not only our opening night, but to also keep our work hanging in the shop so that customers could continue to see it throughout the month of March!

Merchandise

We also made sure to sell merchandise that the average college student could afford. We know that many of our peers desire to support us as artists, but almost none of them can afford to buy one of our pieces. Because of this, we sold tote bags with our show logo screen printed on them by Rhodes Printing in Coweta, OK, prints of photographs and original artwork, handmade postcards, and I sold some handmade crochet clothing items.

We ended up being fairly successful the night of, and it has been really fun to see others sporting our “Places I’ve Been” merchandise, wearing their handmade clothing items, and putting little prints of our artwork on their walls.
